Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 28, 2026 | Version: 2026-08-v1
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Embre uses a session cookie for sign-in and a preference cookie to remember dismissed notifications.
2. Cookies We Use
The session cookie is needed to sign in. The notification cookie saves a convenience preference and is not needed to use the core service. The app also keeps dismissed-notification IDs in browser local storage; local storage is separate from cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| embre_session | Keeps you signed in and authenticates your session. | Strictly necessary. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Path=/; Secure in production. | Up to 30 days; cleared when you sign out. |
| embre_dismissed_notifications | Remembers dismissed notification IDs so they can be hidden from your notification list. | Functional preference. SameSite=Lax, Path=/; readable by page JavaScript. | 30 days |
3. Third-Party & Advertising Cookies
Embre does not set third-party advertising, retargeting, or marketing cookies in the application.
4. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block or delete embre_session, you will need to sign in again to use member features. Blocking embre_dismissed_notifications may prevent dismissed notifications from staying hidden across requests. Clearing browser storage may also remove the saved notification preference.
